Hey all! Adrianna here.
I did it! I started my own restaurant. The construction is finally complete and Jules and I are proud of how it turned out. We named it Experimental Delights for the time being.

We chose a simple, elegant design for the entrance. I wanted comfortable seating in case anyone has to wait to be seated. And the hostess stand is the central point of the entrance.
The dining area to the left and right of the entrance are essentially the same. I made everything light and airy to make the most of the small space. I wanted each dining spot to be an island of it's own.
The small gallery kitchen has just enough room for the essentials but I will be adding to it in the future. I used up my budget of $50k quite fast!
I hired Kim Worley as the hostess and greeted her with praise at the start of her first shift. Is it wrong of me to want my employees to like me?
I hired Adalynn Spears as my one and only waitress. She, of course, received praise as soon as she arrived as well. I will do my best to keep morale high!
I hired Imani Worley as my chef. Although new to the profession, I've heard good things about her. I quickly realized I couldn't run a restaurant on my own and cook at the same time. Maybe I'd be able to mix drinks later once my staff had some training, but that would be down the road.
Our first guest arrived and I gushed over him in welcome. I don't even remember his name but I wanted him to find his experience to be personable. I did later receive great reviews on my staff so I think I did well.
Off to the next table, I greet the newest two gentlemen just as warmly. I don't think they appreciated it as much as my first guest but they seemed happy enough.
My first customer's food arrived and, although not fancy, he seemed to enjoy it! I reminded myself to praise my chef once more as soon as I caught a break.
Unfortunately, poor Adalynn let her nerves get the best of her and dropped my second table's food all over the floor. I encouraged her to relay to the chef that we needed a new order pronto! I also promised the table free drinks and that seemed to placate them.
I finally found a moment to praise Imani again, I offered to pay for lessons outside of work with some of the best chefs in town. She seemed grateful enough.
Then I settled down for dinner in my very own restaurant. The staff found it quite entertaining serving me! And the food tasted pretty good as well.
Meanwhile, at home, even though it's technically my day off, I've left my family to fend for themselves. Thankfully they had leftovers in the fridge . . .
I promptly fell asleep when I returned home, fully clothed and exhausted. Thankfully Jules let me rest a while before he roused me.
Jules continued his paintings, churning out masterpieces to compensate for my spending and losing money. I ended up with a $64 loss at the end of my first day open for business. It would get better though.
Ricky and Faon arrived to announce that Faon was pregnant as well! I'm so excited for them. I wouldn't trade my children for the world!
Somehow I ended up repairing the dishwasher in my state as well . . . hardheadedness comes right along with my pregnancies. I wouldn't be told that I couldn't do something.
I enjoyed a virgin wine . . . yes I concocted such a beverage . . . while the kids did their homework in the living room for a change. I felt like I had a lot to catch up on and I had only missed one day/evening with them.
Ashley bragged about successfully cooking on the grill. I shuddered thinking of the fire Jules had started on that grill, but I suppose my family would be able to cook better if I shared some of the responsibility.
Our quite, pleasant evening ended when labor pains woke me out of dead sleep. The baby was early! I quickly decided on a home birth and sent Jules to organize everything. What had I been thinking?!
A Note From ShayDLane:
Sorry for the short post! I've had a very long and exhausting day, even though it was a good one as well. I'll update the stats in the next post. Stay tuned to meet the newest Whittaker!
