Sims 3 Cheats
To use cheats, open the cheat console by pressing control + shift + C at the same time. A blue bar will appear at the top of the screen. Type in your cheat and press enter. Press the escape key to exit the console. Some cheats require you to type testingCheatsEnabled (true/false) to gain access to them. Cheats that require this will be noted.
Popular Cheats
kaching
This cheat gives you 1000 Simoleons each time you use it.
motherlode
This one gives you 50,000 Simoleons each time you use it.
familyfunds (household's last name) (amount of Simoleons you want)
*This requires testingCheatsEnabled true to be on.
This allows you to give your family as many Simoleons you want. You can give them more than they have or less (in the case of me adjusting the amount for my Legacy Challenge).
help
This give you a list of popular cheats.
help (input cheat name here)
This gives you information about a specific cheat.
moveObjects (on/off)
This allows you to place an object anywhere. It ignores the grid and the space required by other objects. Keep in mind your Sim may not be able to use the object if there isn't enough space around it. This is useful for moving Sims or objects they are interacting with if something has become stuck.
disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt (on/off)
This stop an object from snapping to the grid while pressing and holding alt. It will not allow you to place the object anywhere like moveObjects, but it allows you to create a more realistic floor plan.
resetSim (first name) (last name)
If your Sim is stuck or frozen, use this cheat to reset them back to their home lot, in a neutral mood. You will lose moodlets and wishes.
freeRealEstate
This allows you to move a household into any house, whether they have the money to afford it or not.
constrainFloorElevation (true/false)
This allows you to change the terrain of your lot regardless what walls, floors or objects are on it.
hideHeadlineEffects (on/off)
This will hide thought bubbles, speech balloons and the plumbob over all Sims' heads.
framerate (on/off)
This displays your framerate in the corner of your screen to see how your computer is handling the game.
fadeObjects (on/off)
This toggles whether objects fade when the camera gets close to them.
jokePlease
This displays a random joke in the console.
slowMotionViz (level)
Slows the visuals of the game. 0 is normal speed and 8 is the slowest.
unlockOutfits (on/off)
This gives you access to career outfits while in CAS. You must enter this cheat before entering CAS.

Shift-Click Cheats
To use these cheats you must have testingCheatsEnabled true turned on.
teleport
Press and hold shift and then click anywhere on the ground. Select teleport to have your Sim teleport to another location, on or off of your lot.
mailbox
Press and hold shift, then click the mailbox. You get many different options, including Make Friends for Me, Make Needs Static/Dynamic, Make Everyone Happy, Career Level, etc.
sim
Press and hold shift, then click on your Sim. This gives you the option of editing your Sim in CAS, modifying traits, aging your Sim up, etc. If you click a Sim you don't control, you can force them to move in with you.
work
If you shift-click your Sim's workplace, you can spawn opportunities for standard careers. If you click on another Sim's home, you can spawn jobs for your professions, such as the ghost hunter or firefighter.
teleport
Press and hold shift and then click anywhere on the ground. Select teleport to have your Sim teleport to another location, on or off of your lot.

mood
Click and drag the mood bars to raise or lower them. This is on the mood tab where you find hunger, bladder, fun, energy, etc. Just click the bar and drag.
moodlets
Press and hold control and then click on a moodlet to remove it. You can remove any moodlet but, of course, it works best for negative moodlets. Just remember, once you remove a moodlet, you can't easily get it back.
relationships
In the relationship tab, you can click and drag the relationship bar on your Sim's acquaintances and friends to raise or lower their relationship. Once the bar is completely fill, have your Sim complete a romantic interaction with a Sim to create a love interest.
lifetime happiness points
For some reason, this cheat requires you to turn on the testingCheatsEnabled true while on the main menu, before you load your game. Once you load the game, in the lifetime rewards tab, press control and click in the area around the treasure chest. This will give your Sim 500 lifetime happiness points each time you click. Un-pause your game so you can see the points accumulate, otherwise it might appear like it's not working.
professions
With professions, you can click and drag the experience bar to gain experience. Just keep clicking and dragging to advance your profession.
buydebug
With testingCheatsEnabled turned on, type buydebug into the console. You must have World Adventures or one of the later expansion packs for this to work. It give you a new category in buy mode. You have to be in the tab that sorts items by type, such as appliances, storage, hobbies, etc. When you click on the question mark, it gives you access to many things that are not available in buy mode, such as hidden objects, spawns for collectibles or plants, etc.
mood
Click and drag the mood bars to raise or lower them. This is on the mood tab where you find hunger, bladder, fun, energy, etc. Just click the bar and drag.

Press and hold control and then click on a moodlet to remove it. You can remove any moodlet but, of course, it works best for negative moodlets. Just remember, once you remove a moodlet, you can't easily get it back.
relationships
In the relationship tab, you can click and drag the relationship bar on your Sim's acquaintances and friends to raise or lower their relationship. Once the bar is completely fill, have your Sim complete a romantic interaction with a Sim to create a love interest.
lifetime happiness points
For some reason, this cheat requires you to turn on the testingCheatsEnabled true while on the main menu, before you load your game. Once you load the game, in the lifetime rewards tab, press control and click in the area around the treasure chest. This will give your Sim 500 lifetime happiness points each time you click. Un-pause your game so you can see the points accumulate, otherwise it might appear like it's not working.
professions
