Day 37 - Tuesday
Hey all! It's Adrianna.
Hey all! It's Adrianna.
I still have a few days off work to spend time with Ashley. I decided I'd make a day of teaching her valuable skills for a toddler. I checked on the dogs and collected Ashley.
Ashley was definitely not as easy to teach as Ricky, but she did learn to walk . . . when she wants to. I'm a little concerned at how she seems to always be in an ugly mood, but surely she will outgrow that . . .
Since it was going to rain all day, I started working on teaching Ashley to talk. I only thought teaching her to walk was difficult. It was nothing compared to teaching her to talk. Something told me, I didn't want her knowing how to talk yet.
Even though it was raining pretty steadily, Ricky asked me if he could go to the junkyard to collect some scrap for his inventing. After a moment, I relented, but told him to study some logic while he was out.
Ricky started a logic tabcast on his multi-tab and headed out into the rain with his new, yellow umbrella. That kid sure loves the color yellow, the brighter, the better.
He reminded me so much of his daddy as he took off on his magic broom. Who knows what he was up to while he was out.
He came home with a lot of scrap, so I guess it was safe to assume he did what he said he was gonna do. I had Jules set up a surprise for when he returned home.
Horseshoes! Ricky was excited to try his hand at the new game.
He didn't get a ringer, but he got one close. Then it was his dad's turn.
Jules' first shot was a dead ringer! I think it's a safe bet to say he's play horseshoes before. even though he claims it was beginner's luck.
I finally had to call the boys inside because I could tell they were getting cold and hungry.
On my way back from checking on the dogs, I see this. The dog gnome is staring at the ice cream cone the freezer bunny gnome has. Where and how did the freezer bunny get an ice cream cone? And where are all of these gnomes coming from? I have about five of the dog gnomes around my yard and house. So strange!
I put Ashley down for a nap and called the babysitter. There was still enough of the evening left to take my family to the spring festival.
After seeing the horseshoes at the festival, I thought about sprucing up mine at home. I'd worry about that later. I couldn't wait to see the rest of the festival. There are a bunch of festival eggs laying about too . . . see if you can spot them.
The spring festival looks beautiful! I couldn't decide what to do first.
Jules was all excited to find a festival egg, so I sent the boys off searching. (The Sims don't keep the eggs. They aren't in their inventory or anything. They are just added as a festival ticket. So the egg hunts are good for getting tickets, but nothing else.)
Ricky was pretty excited to find the eggs as well. I finally called a halt to the fun and games, and we went to the concession stands to get something to eat.
I had some grasshopper pie and Jules had some nachos. I don't know what Ricky ate cause he ran off with his food to eat with some other children. Then we got a call from the babysitter that told us to hurry home. Now!
We knew immediately what was going on when we heard Luna's awful crying and howling. We all gathered around.
Luna had one puppy. A very beautiful, original baby boy. We called him Xeno. (He's non-destructive and skittish. That skittish trait is hard to get rid of.) We all took turns petting and playing with him before he followed Luna to bed.
We also had a massage table and tanning booth deliver, and set up. I couldn't wait to test them out in the days to come. (Sorry about all of the dark pictures guys. It was an overcast day.)
A Note From ShayDLane: Meet Bucktooth Butternut dressed as a bunny. These gnomes are so cute! I have a new theme for the names of the third generation of dogs. Good luck guessing! Ricky invented the harvester and the dog toy. He chose Renaissance Sims as his lifetime wish, which is to reach level 10 of three different skills. It four days to Love Day! Jules reached painting level 7 and Ricky reached level 2 of fishing.
I tried to have Ricky get his face painted, but a glitch caused him to get stuck in the booth so I had to reset him. The bugs and glitches are getting on my nerves. I'd like to actually do the other types of jobs with Adrianna before she gets old. And I'd REALLY like to have a Sim use a telescope. Very annoying. Hope everyone is enjoying Seasons!
