Day 34 - Friday - Snowflake Day
Hey all! It's Adrianna.
Hey all! It's Adrianna.
The guest started arriving for our Gift Giving Party soon after Jules' mom called to give us a heads-up.
His whole family showed up, including some uninvited guests . . . the ghost and Joe.
I gave Joe the cold-shoulder and he left me alone. The very obvious pregnant belly probably helped too.
Everyone gathered around to wait for the last couple of people to finish eating so they could unwrap gifts. (For some reason, they would never unwrap gifts and just sat there until the guests started leaving. When the last guest left, the gift pile was gone. I guess I waited too long to call everyone over to the gift pile. Oh well. I'll get it right next time.)
We sat around for a while after unwrapping gifts, talking and snacking. Finally everyone started going home. They all told me how great the party was. That made me happy! (It was a great party again. Yay!)
We changed the music back to what we like and Jules asked me to dance while we waited for Ricky to awaken from his nap.
Finally Ricky woke up and we told him it was his birthday. He was excited to blow out the candles.
I think Jules was more excited about Ricky's birthday than Ricky was. I wanted to take that noise maker and smack him with it.
Ricky blew out his candles and I sat him on the floor so he could do his thing. (The aging up is so not realistic, but it's within the scope of the game so no complaints.)
Of course, I think he's turned out to be a handsome child.
We had a treehouse built as a birthday surprise. Ricky loves it!
While we were checking out the treehouse and playing with the dogs, we realized Lieutenant was missing.
While we were checking out the treehouse and playing with the dogs, we realized Lieutenant was missing.
We figured he was out hunting but we went for a drive to look for him anyway. We found him sleeping on a bench at a house down the street. Lieutenant was happy to see us and went home with us.
When we got home, we saw a s-Gnome-man Bittertotter hanging out next to our snowman. Of course, Ricky wanted to build his own snowman when he saw ours.
So that's what he did. His snowman turned out just as good as ours. Children have such a knack for playing in the snow.
We spent the rest of the evening setting up Ricky's bunk bed and rearranging his room. I was curious to see how he'd do with sharing his room with his younger sibling when that time came.
Unbeknownst to us at the time, Patterns became a . . . real . . . imaginary friend that we couldn't see. His toy form disappeared when he was playing with Ricky. We couldn't figure out why we could never find the doll anymore, except when Ricky was sleeping or away from home.
We sent Ricky up to bed but he came running back down, frightened. He claimed there were monsters under his bed.
I gave him a sleeping elixir, and told him it would make him sleep and then wake up in an instant. I told him the monster couldn't hurt him when he drank the elixir but he still had to go lay down in bed for it to work.
He bought the story but still insisted on sleeping on the top bunk.
I stayed with him and it wasn't long before he passed out. Then I could finally join Jules to get some well-deserved sleep.
